European Blockchain Convention reinvents itself to remain the reference congress in Europe

The European Blockchain Ecosystem meets at the 4th edition of the European Blockchain Convention. It will take place on September 21st and 22nd online, and will count with workshops, presentations and discussion panels of more than 100 experts of international prestige. The congress will allow one-to-one meetings between attendees and will have a virtual exhibition area.

The online edition will host relevant debates such as the Sovereign Digital Identity on blockchain, which is being developed by the European Union. The pan-European regulatory framework on digital assets, which will see the light of day in 2021.

In addition, Blockchain and DLT standards, the creation of a programmable digital euro, blockchain applications in logistics and international trade, the disintermediation of data in the health industry and mobility, food traceability, Web 3.0 and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Main speakers of the Congress

Among the speakers who will participate in this edition, names such as Pēteris Zilgalvis (European Commission), Eva Kaili (European Parliament), Clarisse Dias de Mota (Novartis), Dante Disparte (Libra Association) stand out, Heather Leigh (ConsenSys), Alexa Ríos (TradeLens | Maersk), Jorge Ordovás (Telefónica), Harry Behrens (Daimler), Martin Diehl (BundesBank), Emmanuel Delerm (Carrefour), Giovanni Franzese (Ericsson), Luis F. Chiroque (Red Eléctrica), Gilberto Florez (Ferrovial), Rodolfo Quijano (Henkel) and Sebastian Kraft (Commerzbank).

This year’s novelty is the workshops that will be given during the congress, specialized 45-minute classes. They will seek to deepen in areas such as Digital Identity in Bitcoin Compass or how to design a decentralized ecosystem of mobility. They will be given by Daimler, Maersk and the European Commission, among others.

EBC was founded in 2017 in Barcelona by two young financiers (Victoria Gago and Daniel Salmerón) who were united by their passion for new technologies, and who were looking to create a space where they could meet people with their same interests.
